This class focuses on the skills of performing a monologue, and other types of solo presentations of literature. Each student will present a selection of prose or dramatic script, and poetry. Through games, exercises, peer feedback, and other activities, we will explore different styles and techniques of a solo performance. Students will read a variety of literature and spend some time focusing on what it can teach us as well as how we can impact an audience with the words of another. This is a good course to take as a precursor for competitive Oral Interpretation, and as a preparation for theatrical audition monologues.
